Painting with light:
shutter speed: 4 seconds
aperture: 5.6
iso: 120
This picture was taken in the theatre, someone was swinging a "strip of light" while a random hand was waving on the side

2:1 ratio lighting:
shutter speed: 1/60
aperture: 5.6
iso: 400
Since the room was relatively dark, and lights were not strong enough, the picture has a grainy look to it. I didn't treat grainy feeling in light room with noise reduction because it feel it sets a different but interesting tone to the picture.

Renaissance Project Essay
Lady Sibyl, a oil paint created between 1510 and 1520, is the portrait of a young lady whose name is Sibyl, and is believed to be the wife of the governor. According to the way she is dressing and her hairstyle, she is believed to be form a noble family with a high status; further more, this is one on the painting form a whole set of oil paints featuring women who had the money to hire, Francesco d'Ubertino Verdi, the artist to paint portraits of them, which confirms her status as a rich wife, possibly wife of the governor.
Francesco d'Ubertino Verdi, the artist who created this oil paint was a Italian painter of the Renaissance whose work is characteristic of the Florentine Mannerist style. ( Mannerism is a style in European art that emerged in the later years of the Italian High Renaissance around 1520, lasting until about 1580 in Italy,Mannerism associated with artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, and early Michelangelo. Where High Renaissance art emphasizes proportion, balance, and ideal beauty, Mannerist style often exaggerates such qualities, cause compositions that are asymmetrical or unnaturally elegant, which is noticeable in the painting.)
Bacchiacca belonged to a family of at least five, and possibly as many as eight artists. His father Ubertino di Bartolomeo was a goldsmith, his older brother Bartolomeo d'Ubertino Verdi, was a painter, and his younger brother Antonio d'Ubertino Verdi—who also called himself Bachiacca—was both an embroiderer and painter. Thou not famous, the family definitely has some artistic blood flowing in their veins, which definitely contributed to Bacchiacca achievements.
Bachiacca apprenticed in Perugino's Florentine studio in his teenage, and by 1515 began to collaborate with Andrea del Sarto, Jacopo Pontormo and Francesco Granacci on the decoration of cassone (chest), spalliera (wainscot), and other painted furnishings for the bedroom of Pierfrancesco Borgherini. While he established a reputation as a painter of predellas and small cabinet pictures, he eventually expanded his output to include large altarpieces, such as the painting of lady sibyl.
Renaissance is a period of time considered the cultural bridge between 14 and 17th century that connects the middle ages and modern history. The the core of Renaissance was its own invented version of humanism, which adopted feature from both Roman Humanitas and the classical Greek philosophy, a quote that would be the perfect representation to these two philosophies would be "Man is the measure of all things." The society adapted ancient Rome and Greek ideology in many fields, including painting, suptureing, designing of architecture and philosophy.
The origins of Renaissance art can be traced to Italy in the late 13th and early 14th centuries. During this so-called “proto-Renaissance” period , Italian scholars and artists saw themselves as reawakening to the ideals and achievements of classical Roman culture. They looked back to ancient Greece and Rome and sought to revive the languages, values and intellectual traditions.

Alternative process 1:
Photogram
My photo gram process used edge of a roll of film, a piece of paper that was cut in the middle, some clay "dust" found in the storage area between two art rooms and a piece of silk from my silk screen.
In the photo gram on the left, the piece of paper was placed at the bottom of the photo paper, to represent city. On top of the city, the silk and film edge represent fireworks, because it creates different level of white on top of the black sky. Then, some clay powder was spread onto the dark area to represent some smaller fireworks and stars. And there we have a image of fireworks above a night city.
In the other photo gram, the image looks upside down, but there is more to it. Not only the the stars and fireworks were flipped to represent a road with sidewalk leading to the city and texture of the earth, the piece of paper representing city was also flipped; it is now placed upside down on top of the piece of paper, so that the ground and the city are both black, and it its now more visually connected, and the smaller piece of paper in the back adds another layer to the silhouette of the city.

Alternative process 2: Silk Screen

This is my Silk screen process, the picture was taken this summer in Ecuador. There are birds/pigeons flying over some building, and created a nice contrast. However, the silk screen wasn't able to portray the beautiful contrast: the highlights were blown out. If i had another chance, I would have toned down the expore of the entire image, to give more details.
Alternative process 3: Gel medium.
The gel medium was done to a picture of a parrot with a lot of negative space to create contrast. But now i have to keep the ugly dark background, in order to see the bird. If I were given another chance, I would invert the image, and then do the gel medium process, which would give me a black bird.

Breaking the Rules
These are my breaking the rules entries, following no photography rule what so ever. The lines are tilted, some on the objects are places in awkward positions, and just make me feel uncomfortable in general
Creative Self-Portrait
The picture on the left is taken at dawn, in my backyard, at aperture 9.0, ISO 100 and under a 30 second exposure on a tripod, using "painting with light" technique, The other picture was taken at sunset, with two friends on a hill, it was taken by a phone, with auto exposure and everything.
The picture on the right is me when I'm with my friends and in front of other people, happy and enjoying life, which is a important part of me.
The light trails on the left represents me when I'm alone, I traced flash light around myself twice in two different locations, because I really do not like being alone by my self. Unless I am attracted to something, (FIGURE ON THE LEFT IS READING), I often can't find something to do(figure on the right).
I picked these two figures to represent the two sides of me: me in front of other people and me by myself.

This is the renaissance Photoshop assignment, the original painting's name is nowhere to be found, but it is of a women meeting a man at casement.
Lathaniel's face was photos hoped onto the women's face, because they were both pale, and had red hair.
